BOAR Blackforest Premium Gin with Burgunder Truffle will distilled in in the Black Forest in southern Germany. Distilling is an ancient tradition here, and there are more than 1,000 distilleries in this region, almost all family businesses, but very few that go back to the early 19th century as “Black Forest Boar Distillery”, goes back to 1844. Hannes and Torsten, both fervent “gin-lovers” were imagining how wonderful it would be to launch its own gin, which ultimately is the biggest dream of any gin lover.
So the gin went to a very though distillation process to make the truffle taste as gentle as possible, The 13 botanicals used in this gin are not all known. Some of the botanicals that I can give are: lavender, thyme, lemon zest, pepper …In the nose, it is not as you might think, an explosion of truffle, such as truffle oil. No, with the juniper in the background this gin gets a more citrus character, with lavender which is also very soft. The truffle is very gentle on the background.
