The LOCH LOMOND Inchmoan 12 Years is the first bottling in the INCHMOAN Single Malts collection from the Loch Lomond Island Collection. They are heavily peated single malts from the distillery Loch Lomond. Used malted barley with 50ppm phenol content and 3 different distillation styles, which give this particular single malt expressive character with more subtle peat notes.
The traditional Swan Pot Still produces an oily, sweet medicinal peat character that forms the base. The unique Straight Neck Pot Still, which is used to make a low-alcohol "newmake", adds to the smokiness and finally, a high-alcohol "newmake" is captured, capturing the spicier peat flavors.
Matured in a mixture of newly burned American oak barrels and American refill-bourbon oak barrels, this Loch Lomond has a soft, sweet vanilla background that enhances the softer peat style of Loch Lomond's unique firing process.
Nose: Mint leaf, burnt wood, a hint of medicinal peat.
Palate: Spicy as it opens, with plenty of black pepper and cinnamon. Soon enough, layers of toffee develop to balance it out.
Finish: Fruitier notes arrive on the finish.
Manufakturer: Loch Lomond
