Jinzu is a top-award-winning blend of Gin and Sake, created by British bartender Dee Davies.“It's smooth and creamy and slightly sweet”, says Dee, who was inspired to create Jinzu Gin by her hometown of Bristol and her love of Japan.
The Gin element is distilled with Japanese-inspired botanicals, including cherry blossom and yuzu lemon - a citrus fruit that tastes of orange and mandarin, and which provided the inspiration for the name 'Jinzu' - along with more traditional Gin botanicals. It is then blended with Sake.
The Jinzu bottle is also very striking. The clear glass mirrors the clarity of Jinzu and the large golden stopper gives the bottle an imperial air. The vessel is decorated with cherry blossom, giving it an elegant, soft appearance. Cherry blossom is commonly accepted as the symbol of Japan and conjures up images of blushing Geishas and kimonos. With such a strong Japanese connection, it’s really no surprise that cherry blossom was selected as one of the main ingredients in Jinzu.
