The French producer "Cognac Ferrand" is, as the name suggests, actually specialized in cognac. However, for the Plantation Rum series, it has decided to work with selected distilleries in the respective countries of origin of the sugar cane.
The Plantation Rum XO Reserve Guatemala is made without industrial production. It is distilled in Guatemala and aged in Bourbon barrels for about a decade. It is then shipped to France and bottled in former cognac barrels to receive a special finish for a period of 18 to 24 months. Thus his personality is marked by the many years of rest in oak barrels. The long storage in different types of barrels results in a particularly well-balanced rum with an intense aroma, light oak notes and tropical fruit aromas such as of dried coconut flakes, banana chips, mango and guava. This exclusive premium rum from the Plantation series is one of the finest and most unique that the Ferrand Cognac House has to offer.
