PORT WINE

Port wine is a sweet wine from Portugal. Its region of origin is Alto Douro in the Douro Valley. However, it got its name from the port city of Porto, to which it is traditionally shipped after its production for maturing, storage and international distribution.

Port wine is produced according to different methods, resulting in different styles, degrees of maturity and quality levels. Depending on the vintage, a Port can be one of the most interesting and long-lasting wines in the world in terms of taste. Through long ageing and subsequent careful bottle storage, the port wine develops a special aroma and complexity.
