A new premium gin from the Black Forest is making a name for itself among gin connoisseurs. The Monkey 47 is a homage to the story of Commander Montgomery Collins, who in 1945 had the task of rebuilding the Berlin Zoo after the war. During his work he made friends with a monkey named Max. 6 years later Collins moved to the Black Forest, where he opened the inn "Zum Wilden Affen". As an innkeeper he created this unique gin. The Monkey 47 Dry Gin is still produced by Blackforest Distillers in limited edition.
The number 47 stands for 47 hand-picked vegetable ingredients from the Black Forest and India, such as spruce shoots, elderflower and balm, which give the gin its very special note. The clear scent of juniper is also clearly recognizable, mixed with pepper and citrus notes.
The Monkey 47 Gin fits perfectly into a GinTonic, served in a long drink glass on ice and fresh cucumber. Our tonic recommendation: 1724 Tonic
